Privacy Policy

Who we are

Sacred Dialogue Partner is a ministry of Dialog Works, a nonprofit organization founded to support faith leaders in their work. This privacy policy describes how we handle information when you use Sacred Dialogue Partner at sdp.dialogworks.org.

What we collect when you register

When you create an account we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Your ministry title and denomination (optional)
• Your attestation that you are a faith leader or seminary student
• A password, which is encrypted and never readable by us

We use this information to create and maintain your account, to send you a welcome email, and to notify Dialog Works that a new user has joined. Your name and email are added to a private tracking spreadsheet accessible only to Dialog Works staff.

Your conversations with Dr. Sarah

This is the most important part of this policy.

By default, your conversations are not stored anywhere. When you close a session, the conversation is gone. No one at Dialog Works reads your conversations. No one reviews them for quality assurance. No one uses them for training AI models.

If you choose to enable conversation memory in your preferences, your messages are stored in a secure database so that Dr. Sarah can remember previous sessions. This storage is:

• Encrypted in transit and at rest
• Accessible only to you
• Deletable by you at any time from the gear menu
• Never reviewed or read by Dialog Works staff

You can turn memory off or delete your entire conversation history at any time. When you delete your history, it is permanently and immediately removed.

How your messages reach Dr. Sarah

When you send a message, it is transmitted securely to our AI processing service, which generates Dr. Sarah's response. This transmission is encrypted. Under the terms governing our use of this service, your messages are never used to train AI models, and the service automatically deletes them from its systems within seven days.

Voice features

If you use voice input, your audio is transmitted securely to a speech-to-text service to convert your words to text. We have configured this connection so that your voice is never used to train AI models. If you enable Dr. Sarah's voice, her text responses are transmitted securely to a text-to-speech service to generate audio. That service does not use your content to train AI models, though it may briefly retain it for service quality and troubleshooting purposes, consistent with its own privacy policy.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your information to anyone
• We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes
• We do not use your conversations to train our own AI models, and we have configured every AI service we rely on so that your content is excluded from their training as well
• We do not read your conversations
• We do not display advertising

Data security

Your account and any stored conversations are protected by industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and row-level access controls that ensure only you can access your data.

Your rights

You may at any time:

• Delete your conversation history from within the app
• Request deletion of your account by emailing peter.soli@dialogworks.org
• Ask what information we hold about you

Children

Sacred Dialogue Partner is intended for ordained or licensed faith leaders and seminary students. It is not designed for or directed at anyone under the age of 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of Sacred Dialogue Partner after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
